Kindergarten

At NIS, we respect and celebrate children from different cultures and diverse backgrounds and encourage them to respect each other. Giving back to the less fortunate is also part of our teaching, where we encourage the children to be considerate towards the less fortunate whenever possible.

Our school environment is spacious, safe, nurturing and colourful with a calm yet happy atmosphere that is stimulating, comfortable and creative where children learn basic skills through play, discovery and inquiry!

We look forward to fostering a positive relationship and encourage open teacher-parent communication to help achieve a smooth sailing school experience.

Programs
  • Houses

  • NIS has four Houses, each named after a Renaissance artist. They are Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael.
Each pupil is assigned to a House on arrival and stays tied to that House for the duration of their NIS career. This gives pupils a chance to bond with people outside of their regular friendship circles and encourages healthy competition across year groups. Everyone is encouraged to participate in practices for each event, with the best performers being selected to represent their House.
Inter-house competitions are held throughout the school year, with a particular focus on sports and performing arts. We have seen competitions in basketball, netball, touch rugby, poetry recital, dance, public speaking, sports day and quizzes.
Raphael have held the title of Best House for the last few years, although Leonardo’s sporting successes this year make them a serious contender for the title.
